![]() ![]() Oh and my itinerary was from Athens to Mykonos. I wasn’t able to do any work or have my business zoom call. Could browse the internet at slow speeds and that’s about it. Both of them wouldn’t let me use Instagram, send messages on WhatsApp, nothing. I paid for the cheap option and the expensive option to compare. Overall our experience with Blue Star has been shocking and I would urge everyone else to book with a different company ![]() This has yet again ruined another full day of our holiday as we coordinated around this specific ferry and their times and we will now have to leave Ios a day earlier in order to make our flight. They were very unhelpful and never answered my question, instead waiting until today to send out another email saying our way home is cancelled too. We managed to figure out a way around this, however I decided to email the company and ask if our way home would be cancelled too as I could not find that route on their website anymore. Instead we got an email a few week ago saying our trip on the 30th was cancelled. We booked these trips back in November as we wanted to budget our trip and be prepared. We booked to travel with Blue Star Ferries on the 30th of June from Athens to Ios, and Ios back to Athens on the 7th of July. I would have loved to prove this point wrong with my own experience however we never even made it on the boat. If you are going to book a ferry, I would suggest you look elsewhere rather than putting money in the pockets of these racist idiots.įrom the reviews I’ve read this ferry seems like an absolute nightmare. My review is not the first one I have seen the mention racist, lazy, unprofessional staff and I highly doubt it will be the last! All in all an extremely vile experience from start to finish, Blue Star Ferries should be absolutely ashamed of themselves and the staff they employ. I was and still am disgusted at the man who was doing the passport checking, as he seemed to think RACIALLY PROFILING was not just okay but easily justified. ![]() (I understand a policy checking passports, but not just the people of ethnic minorities) The blatant racial profiling was denied by the staff member who gave some spiel about how there is a policy to do this. When the staff finally arrived the first thing they did was ask to see their passports, but nobody else’s. Therefore wasting our time, to which the staff team did not seemed interested nor bothered, as they all arrived to the port later than the ferry’s original arrival time so they surely must’ve known about the delay but decided to keep it to themselves rather than inform the paying and waiting passengers.ĭuring our extended wait at the port, a family who appeared to be of ethnic minority were also waiting for the ferry. The ferry did not arrive at the port until after 5:30AM, and did not leave until around 6:00AM. We set off from our hotel at 4:00AM in order to arrive at the port at 4:30 as per the “check in 30 minutes prior to departure” policy stated on our tickets. Myself and my partner booked a trip from Kos to Rhodes for a 5:00AM departure. ![]()
